The members of our business transactions practice group devote most of their practices to general corporate law and other business law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate matters, tax law, commercial transactions, health care law, and general business advisory services.
We represent a wide range of clients including three locally headquartered, national securities exchange-traded public companies, several locally headquartered, privately-held manufacturers and other businesses with significant facilities and activities located in our region but conducting business throughout the United States, a multi-hospital health care system, the largest medical group within 100 miles, several bank holding companies and banks with presences in Illinois, Missouri, Florida and Kansas, a multitude of smaller, local businesses, and many individuals with personal business interests.
We have been responsible for mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of companies, business units and assets such as real estate of various sizes, including the acquisition of $51.5 million in edible bean businesses in a three-year period for a large privately-held agribusiness, the sale of a $300 million multi-state agribusiness, the acquisition and disposition of more than $150 million of real estate and business assets for a private investment fund in a seven-year period, the public registration and national securities exchange listing of a $1 billion plus bank holding company with nine banks in Illinois, Missouri and Kansas, the acquisition of several tire and wheel-related businesses ranging in value from $2 to $42.5 million, the acquisition of various banks and bank holding companies ranging from $3.5 to $45 million, the sale of a $3 million institutional pharmacy business, and the acquisition of a hospital for over one million dollars, among other transactions. We are also regularly engaged in the formation of start-up corporations, limited liability companies, and other business entities.
While our group has the breadth and depth of experience to handle various significant, complex transactions, we also maintain close relationships with specialty practice groups in larger law firms who can assist us with narrowly defined, more complex aspects of special projects as needed. This collaboration allows us to provide our business clients with quality, comprehensive legal services for a reasonable fee.
