Joseph is an associate in the Firm’s estate planning and business transactions practice groups. His practice focuses on estate and gift tax planning, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, the sale, purchase, and leasing of commercial real estate, and entity creation, maintenance, and restructuring.
Mr. Ott’s practice relates to numerous aspects of business operations including a diversity of corporate transactions from start-up business planning, transaction structuring, the negotiation and drafting of definitive agreements, and the dissolution and winding up of ongoing businesses. In addition to a broad business transactions practice, he drafts various estate planning documents including trusts, wills, prenuptial agreements, durable powers of attorney and medical directives. He also represents creditors in a range of loan modification and workout arrangements, including collections and real and personal property foreclosure actions.
Prior to joining SRNM, Mr. Ott served as an investment advisor for a large, national broker-dealer. He graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in Taxation Law and earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
