Brent A. Walters joined the firm in 2017 as a partner in the general business and transaction practice group. Brent uniquely combines large law firm experience with extensive in-house counsel experience for three major international manufacturers: Caterpillar, Inc.; Gardner Denver, Inc.; and Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc.
Brent left private practice to join Caterpillar as an in-house attorney in 1996. During those years, he advised and counseled Caterpillar, including its North American Distribution Division; Europe, Africa, and Middle East headquarters based in Switzerland; Caterpillar Global Mining; and Caterpillar Financial Services in the areas of complex transactions, corporate and commercial matters, regulatory compliance, including antitrust, securities, and international trade as well as domestic and international litigation.
In 2009, Brent left Caterpillar to become General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Gardner Denver, Inc., a Fortune 1000 NYSE-listed global manufacturer. He was one of five executive officers serving in the C-suite responsible for all legal and regulatory matters around the world, including in the United States, China, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Mexico, Brazil, and India, as well as advising the Board on governance matters. After Gardner Denver sold to private equity in 2013, Brent became General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed global manufacturer of truck and heavy equipment parts. He was the company’s first lawyer and established its first ever legal and compliance function, as well as the other typical duties of a public company General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.
In his free time, Brent enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, cycling, skiing, cooking, and reading.
